Jason Layman

”My first construction job was working for an asphalt company during the summers and after school,” says Jason Layman. “My days of working on parking lots taught me at a very young age that no matter what you do, every part of a puzzle is important, by this I mean that whether you are a laborer, supervisor or owner -- everyone can make a difference.” Jason has been involved in the construction business since he was that asphalt-spreading teenager and his love for working with his hands and learning how pieces and parts fit together has kept him very involved and knowledgeable about the industry. After graduation from Goddard High School and during college, Jason worked for a construction company that built garages and room additions until July of 1991 when he began working as a carpenter.   By 1994, he was promoted to project supervisor.  He was responsible for overseeing remodel and new construction projects with cost ranges from $20,000 to $1.2 million.

Only a few short years later, Jason was again promoted to the position of project estimator. He served in that capacity for three years.  In 2002, he pursued his dreams of better utilizing his talents and co-founded Ink Commercial Contractors.  As co-founder of Ink, Jason helped generate $1.2 million in sales in its first year and grow to $7.5 million in sales in 2003.  The company developed and grew rapidly over the next 5 years.  By 2008 Ink closed its’ books with $20 million in commercial construction sales.  In September of 2008, Jason and his partner sold Ink Commercial Contractors.

Jason, who claims the personal motto of: “Passion for success will overcome any obstacle that gets in my way!!” has since focused his enthusiasm for the construction business on his previously founded company Rock Enterprises Inc.  Though the smell of asphalt and sweaty teenage labor are far behind him, he feels that to move forward occasionally you must move back.  Being an owner is a gratifying experience for Jason, but he loves to get back in the field and help his guys work on a project.  “Seeing something come together in its entirety and come out successful is very rewarding”, says Jason.

Jason is proud to say that he has worked diligently to become a major competitor in the Wichita market and surrounding areas.  He possesses a wealth of knowledge in the industry with more than 20 years of experience.  He is excited to continue generating new business, growth and customer satisfaction.  Jason can serve our clients by showing them how to adapt their visions into reality while maintaining cost efficiency, quality, and dependable work!
